We can whine, complain and have much gnashing of teeth, but it's wholly unreasonable to expect MMOs of any sort to have servers in every single region, especially when they don't even really market to your region. The main reason being that the Korean and Chinese datacenters are closed to anyone outside those respective countries and there simply not being enough of an AU crowd to justify an Oceanic server. I would hate to break it to you but it's been widely accepted for years now that WTFast and Battleping essentially go hand in hand with the service. The only explanation I can give you for your issues reaching those data centers would be that your connection would s somehow restricting the IPs. Australia is honestly not that big a continent that one side or the other really effects your ping to Tokyo. Players from the west side of the AU have even stated they have pings that are just fine there. If you want to troll, i can dance with the best of them. If you wanted you could have offered up some examples of which servers you recommend for those who are an extreme distance from the game host locations, or which of said servers have a large english speaking base who are similarly crippled by the higher than normal pings. This thread is solely about warning those who are AU / NZ about the high ping they are likely to endure BEFORE they make a purchase. Or how about the fact you need to VPN to reduce your ping by approx 50ms in the first place ( which is hardly of use when your base ping is 350ms ) ?, i'd welcome having that discussion also.

Not everyone out there is going to VPN ( or even knows how to ) to play a game that's puchased. Not readily dismissing, if you read the thread and actually examine its content instead of seeking to troll, you'd understand the principal involved.

Their loss and anyone who purchases it should be AWARE they will potentially have far higher than normal pings to play the game. I stand by my earlier statement, 4 years on and they still have ONLY 2 server locations for an MMO.

LOL, the AU population using japan servers are more than likely on the east coast, which is where the international links head out from, and or using VPN software to boot, or worse still just accept the 90's grade ping because there is no other choice.
